Here’s How it Works

Credit Card Pre-authorization Policy: The Circuit sends a $30 credit card pre-authorization when each guest starts their tab, confirming that the card is activated and has sufficient funds available. Pre-authorizations are common among businesses that provide a product or service prior to receiving payment (ex. hotels, car rentals, gas stations, and bars typically pre-authorize amounts ranging from $1-$300). The pre-authorization is not a charge. When you close your tab, the hold is released back to your bank/card company and will be “dropped,” depending on their procedures, within 3-7 business days (excluding weekends and holidays).

If you would like to skip the pre-authorization, The Circuit also offers a prepaid card option.

General Disclaimers
  • The Circuit does not accept responsibility for the loss or damage of any personal property.

  • The Tap Master and any Circuit team member may refuse a Beer Card or reactivation to any guest who is visibly intoxicated.

  • Disorderly conduct, disrespect of our games or tap wall, or any offensive or aggressive behavior toward The Circuit staff or guests are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. Any guest displaying disorderly conduct will be removed from The Circuit and will not be permitted to re-enter for the remainder of the evening. Depending on the severity of the conduct, it may result in a permanent ban from The Circuit at the discretion of Circuit management.

Can I bring the kids?

Family Friendly Hours:

Sunday – Thursday: Open – 9PM. 21+ only after 9PM

Friday & Saturday: Open – 7PM. 21+ only after 7PM.

During family friendly hours, guests under 18 must be accompanied by a legal adult at all times. Guardians are limited to 5 underage guests. All guests under the age of 21 must adhere to the Family Friendly curfew. Beyond these posted hours, The Circuit is open to guests 21+ with valid ID only. Please note that The Circuit is a bar environment designed with a focus on accommodating our adult guests.

Can I bring my dog?

Let’s be honest; this is a tricky question. We love meeting your canine companions, but it must be stated: The Circuit is designed for people. If your dog is uncomfortable in any extreme weather conditions or environments that are loud, bright, and crowded, we recommend leaving them to enjoy the comforts of home. Our staff kindly reserves the right to request the removal of any pet from our property.

Where do I park?

We are located in an industrial neighborhood in the heart of Richmond, VA. Our parking lot is very small and fills up quickly. If you are unable to find a Unicorn Parking Spot, ample street parking is available throughout Scott’s Addition. Please note street parking restrictions when selecting a spot (restrictions do not apply on Saturday and Sunday).

You can eliminate all parking woes from your experience by choosing to walk, bike, carpool, or take advantage of ride-sharing options such as Uber & Lyft, or the GRTC Pulse – Scott’s Addition Station.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

No. Virginia ABC strictly prohibits any alcohol not served at The Circuit from being brought onto our property. Violations will result in immediate removal and confiscation. If you need help finding a beverage option to suit your taste, please find our Tap Master and they will guide you toward something you’re sure to enjoy. If you visit with an appetite, we’ll be happy to prepare something fresh from our menu. Exceptions may be arranged for large parties and private event rentals.

Please note: we understand that Scott’s Addition is overflowing with beverages for sale to go, from local breweries, cideries, distilleries, and more. If you arrive with a bottle, growler, crowler or any other alcoholic beverage purchased from one of our neighbors, you will be required to check it with our staff at the check-in counter.

How do I pour my drink?

Great question! This one is fundamental to The Circuit experience. Here’s how it works:

  • Rest your Beverage Card in the reader on the wall above the tap of your choice. Leave it.
  • Place your glass under the spout.
  • Pull the tap lever toward you, as far as it will go (gently, please!).
  • Pressure is intentionally set to pour slowly, decreasing the amount of head or loss from over pouring.
  • Pours are charged by the ounce! When you have poured your desired amount, push the tap lever back toward the wall as far as it will go (again, gently!).
  • Carry your Beer Card with you until your next pour.

Additional notes: Beer Cards will automatically deactivate when 32 oz. have been poured. Please see the Tap Master to reactivate your card. The Tap Master is always nearby to assist you at the tap wall (pouring technique, kicked kegs, foamy pours, etc.), and to offer insight and suggestions to suit your taste. The Tap Master and any Circuit team member may refuse a Beer Card or reactivation to any guest who is visibly intoxicated.

When is last call?

Last call is given 45 minutes prior to closing and tap wall service ends 30 minutes prior to closing. No beverages may be poured after tap wall service ends (please keep an eye on the clock & plan accordingly). This policy allows for our guests to enjoy their last pour at a safe and leisurely pace, and for our staff to execute their duties in a timely manner at the end of the day.

I lost my Beer Card / left without closing my tab. What now?

If you lose your Beer Card, don’t panic! Locate a Circuit team member. We will block the card from further use, and you may either close your existing tab or transfer your existing tab to a new Beer Card. There is no cost to replace the Beer Card in this instance.

If you forget to check out…

  • Our team will close your tab to the total amount accrued + 18% gratuity + $5 to cover the cost of our Beverage Card.

  • You may return the Beverage Card within 7 days and receive $5 in tokens for your next visit.

  • Come back during regular business hours to retrieve your Credit Card. The Circuit does not accept liability for any Credit Cards left on our property. We will hold abandoned cards for a reasonable amount of time.

Do you have gluten free options?

Yes!

Drinks: our draft list is on constant rotation and we always have a selection of craft ciders and wine available. Cider is gluten free, as are most wines. Options are slim for delicious gluten free beer, so we’ll be on the lookout and do our best to get our hands on some if/when options become available.

Food: our tortilla chips are made with corn! We’re working on making more options available.

I’m having an issue with a game. Help!

If you are experiencing ANY sort of technical issue with any of our games, please find a Circuit team member as fast as you can! Bonus points if you find a game tech – Chris, Tion, or John. Lost game tokens will be replaced, we’ll get to work, and the game will be made available for play as soon as possible. NOTE: some of our arcade games date back as far as the late 1970’s. Games may be down for just a few minutes or up to a few weeks depending on the severity of the issue and if replacement parts are required.

Is there a coat check?

No. Coat racks are available near the entrance that are available for public use. The Circuit does not accept responsibility for the loss or damage or any personal property.

Can I charge my phone?

Yes. Please ask a team member to use one of our chargers. We have a limited number available; first come, first served. If none are available, please hold on to your phone and come back later to check availability. Please give a clear description of your phone and lock screen when you come back to pick it up.

I left my _____ at Circuit. Did you find it? When can I get it?

If you leave something behind, please feel free to contact us at dale@thecircuitarcadebar.com or via Facebook Messenger. If we find it, we will hold it for a reasonable amount of time. Unclaimed items will be either disposed of or donated to a local thrift store after a few weeks. You may pick up your lost item during any posted public hours.

*Please keep in mind that the responses to these questions may not apply to you based on your situation and differences in resolving any issue may occur at the discretion of management. We will always do our best to work with you and ensure your time spent with us is fun, productive, and safe.
